UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The Duquesne University women's cross country team took 15th place at the 2024 NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional on Friday at Penn State.
FULL RESULTS
The Dukes were led by senior
Haley Hamilton with a 21:08.9 in 47th place out of 214 runners. Hamilton finishes her Duquesne XC career as the team leader in 18 consecutive races.
Ryley Schwalm made it back-to-back years as DU's second scorer and turned in a 21:47.4 in 84th place.
Gina Bolla raced inside the top-100 with a 21:55.6 (95th place) in her first regional since 2021.
Seniors
Addy Ciecierski (22:10.2 - 108th place) and
Liv Wilson (22:18.3 - 117th place) both scored for the second straight year.
Freshman
Morgan Roemer (22:40.3 - 136th place) and senior
Mara Whalen (23:10.5 - 162nd) competed in their first career NCAA regional.
Duquesne improved its team finish by two spots from last year and totaled 451 points right in the middle of the pack out of 30 teams. West Virginia won the regional with 41 points and all five scorers in the top-13, including the individual champion.
