BETHLEHEM, Pa. — The Duquesne University men's and women's cross country teams closed out their 2025 seasons Friday at the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional Championships hosted by Lehigh.
FULL RESULTS
Senior
Gina Bolla and sophomore
Ben Shields once again led the Dukes. Bolla capped a standout senior year, highlighted by two meet wins and an Atlantic 10 Performer of the Week nod, with a team-best 65th-place finish in the 6k (21:27.5) out of 210 runners. Shields, who paced Duquesne in all six races he competed in this fall, placed 67th in the men's 10k with a time of 31:23.5 — almost 30 seconds better than last year's 10k regional race.
The Dukes finished 19th in the women's team standings and 21st on the men's side.
For the men, sophomore
Anthony Ciecierski (32:17.7, 126th), freshman
Liam Kirkpatrick (32:39.2, 140th), senior
Sam de la Riva (32:58.9, 149th) and freshman
Brendan Burns (33:08.4, 154th) rounded out Duquesne's scoring five. Ciecierski shaved more than 90 seconds off his 2024 regional 10k time.
Seniors
Kate Saum (21:57.9, 94th) and
Sophia Trevenen (22:40.0, 136th), along with freshmen
Sylvia Kashak (22:19.8, 116th) and
Elizabeth Pizon (23:45.2, 182nd), scored for the women. Saum's time was a personal best in her 11th career 6k, while Pizon recorded a new early-career best.
