Gina Bolla and sophomore
Ben Shields led the Duquesne cross country teams at the 2025 Atlantic 10 Conference Championships on Saturday at the Elvin R. King Cross Country Course.
Bolla paced the women's squad with a 22:00.8 to place 33rd overall in her first 6K race of the season. Freshman
Sylvia Kashak crossed in 53rd with a 22:27.2 as Duquesne's second scorer in her first conference championship appearance. Seniors
Kate Saum (22:37.5, 61st) and
Sophia Trevenen (22:46.8, 66th) each improved by more than 20 places from last year's championship to score, while freshman
Kendall Lucas rounded out the top five in 92nd with a 23:26.1 in her Atlantic 10 debut.
On the men's side, Shields led the Dukes for the fifth time in as many races this fall, placing 42nd with a 24:57.7 — six spots better than his 2024 finish. Sophomore
Anthony Ciecierski was the second Duke to cross the line, posting his best scoring performance of the season with a 25:34.4 in 70th. Senior
Sam de la Riva followed with a personal-best 25:41.5 for 76th, while freshman
Liam Kirkpatrick (79th, 25:50.1) scored in his first career championship meet. Junior
Mason Stewart (88th, 26:03.2) closed out Duquesne's scoring five.
Both Duquesne teams placed 12th in the final standings.
