Pittsburgh, Pa. – Senior
Ranelle Ulanday of the Duquesne University bowling team was named the Northeast Conference (NEC) Bowler of the Week Wednesday.
Ulanday was honored after her performance at Destination Orlando, where she averaged 217.20 in five games of traditional play to claim 15th individually. In a 984-815 win over Saint Anselm, Ulanday rolled a 244 before establishing a career high by firing a 268 in a 1,012-998 triumph over Prairie View A&M. The 268 is tied for eighth among top traditional games in program history with three other Dukes.
Instrumental in helping the Dukes pick up their second victory in program history against the No. 1 ranked team in the country, Ulanday contributed a 236 in a 996-945 win over Jacksonville State that closed out traditional play for Duquesne. The only other win in school history against a team ranked in the top spot of the National Tenpin Coaches Association (NTCA) Top 25 poll came during the 2019-20 campaign, a 4-1 victory over Vanderbilt in the championship bracket of the Hawk Classic.
The accolade marks the second career NEC Bowler of the Week honor for Ulanday, who was also named both NEC Bowler of the Week and NEC Rookie of the Week Feb. 16, 2022. Through 237 completed frames in the first two competitions of the 2024-25 season, Ulanday, a native of Union, Ky., has posted an average frame of 20.05 as well as an 87.5 overall fill percentage to go along with 114 strikes in 240 attempts (47.5%).
Ulanday was also named an NEC Prime Performer for her role at Destination Orlando, and she was joined by senior
