LAST TIME OUT
The Dukes finished in eighth (women's) and 12

Duquesne recorded nine personal-bests in the women's competition. All three heptathlon scorers (
Emily Brozeski – school record – ,
Halle Walcutt, and
Jamelah Carswell) charted PR's and inked their names in the top-five scores of all-time at DU.
Mara Whalen ran PR's on consecutive days in the 800m and
Tori Kocsis set a personal-best in the 10,000m, as both qualified for this weekend's IC4A/ECAC meet.
Brozeski won gold for the second year in a row in the heptathlon,
Haley Hamilton took bronze in the 3000m steeplechase, and the 4x800m relay team (
Liv Wilson,
Delaney Line,
Haley Hamilton, and
Mara Whalen) ran the fourth-fastest time ever at DU to earn a bronze medal.
Sadie Wetzel (high jump),
Megan Penrod (javelin),
Madelyn Moretti and
Rachel Koonmen (shot put), along with Whalen (800m), Carswell and Walcutt (heptathlon) added points for the Dukes.
Seven PR's were set on the men's side, highlighted by a school-record run by
Ryan Ellison in the 110m hurdles, back-to-back personal-bests from
Matt DeMatteo in the 400m hurdles, and a PR in the triple jump by
Cam Mbalo to put him third all-time at DU. Both hurdlers, along with Mbalo and

A-10 WEEKLY HONORS

A-10 Rookie of the Week:
Madelyn Moretti (3/21 (co) & 4/1)
Freshman
Madelyn Moretti earned her second A-10 Rookie of the Week honor of the season on April 18 after her record-setting shot put, which led to a meet victory, and a second-place finish in the discus at the CMU Last Chance Meet last Thursday. She was also named the A-10 Co-Rookie of the Week after a stellar opening weekend on March 21, where she posted a 13.98m (45-10 ½) shot put finishing runner-up at the Charlotte 49er Classic, the second-best mark in DU history (at the time) in her first outdoor meet, then a 37.41m (121-10) mark in discus placing eighth.
Jalin Cooper closed out the regular season with the first A-10 weekly honor for the Duquesne men. Cooper, a senior from Medina, N.Y., ran a personal-best 10.70 in the 100m dash, which was good for the fifth fastest time in program history, at last weekend's Red Flash Open, hosted by Saint Francis (PA), finishing runner-up in the meet. The 10.70 was just one hundredth of a second behind fourth place in the all-time record book, held by Paul Blinn (10.69 ran in 2011).
