PITTSBURGH – Duquesne University Cross Country/Track & Field earned 10 selections to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District® Teams, with five men and five women honored.
Each program is permitted to nominate up to five individuals per men's and women's team. Duquesne reached the maximum for the second time in the last three years.
The Dukes were represented by Ian Baughman, Christian Cupp, Joe Klanchar, Vincent Rupp and David Williams on the men's side, along with Haley Hamilton, Madelyn Moretti, Anna Rorrer, Hannah Seitzinger and Halle Walcutt from the women's team.
CSC RELEASE
To qualify for CSC Academic All-District® honors, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, carry a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher (on a 4.0 scale), and post a top-50 individual regional ranking in track and field or place in the top 50 at the 2024 NCAA Cross Country Regional Championships.
MEN'S HONOREES

Ian Baughman, a graduate student from Oxford, Pa., was a 2023–24 Division III CSC Academic All-American at nearby Washington & Jefferson College. Now in law school at Duquesne, he made an immediate impact in his first season, ranking 15th in the Mid-Atlantic Region in the outdoor 400-meter hurdles.

Christian Cupp, a sophomore from Shaker Heights, Ohio, holds a 3.61 GPA as a health science major. He ranked sixth in the Mid-Atlantic Region and 49th in the NCAA East in the decathlon, while also adding top-50 regional performances in the high jump, long jump, and heptathlon.

Joe Klanchar, a junior physical therapy major out of Greensburg, Pa., owns a 3.89 GPA and was ranked 17th in the Mid-Atlantic Region in the javelin during the outdoor season.

Vincent Rupp posted a 3.96 GPA in finance and notched regional rankings of 31st outdoors and 28th indoors in the high jump. The Erie, Pa., native is a sophomore.

David Williams, a senior from Mechanicsburg, Pa., earned his second career Academic All-District® honor. The sociology major carries a 3.95 GPA and was ranked 35th in the Mid-Atlantic Region in the indoor 400 meters.
WOMEN'S HONOREES

Haley Hamilton, a senior out of Pittsburgh, Pa., earned her third straight Academic All-District® selection. The physician assistant studies major owns a 3.92 GPA and was Duquesne's top finisher at the NCAA Cross Country Regional Championships, placing 47th overall.

Madelyn Moretti, a junior nursing major from Madison, Ohio, repeated as a honoree thanks to her 3.88 GPA and regional rankings of 15th (indoor) and 17th (outdoor) in the shot put.

Anna Rorrer, a sophomore physical therapy major from Woodridge, Ohio, picked up her first Academic All-District® nod. She ranked in the top 20 in both the 100- and 400-meter hurdles during outdoor season and added a 34th-place regional finish in the indoor 60-meter hurdles.

Hannah Seitzinger continued her academic and athletic excellence with a perfect 4.00 GPA in physician assistant studies. The senior from Belle Vernon, Pa., posted Mid-Atlantic Region rankings of eighth in the indoor 800 meters, 20th in the outdoor 800, and 24th in the indoor 400. She's now a three-time selection.

Halle Walcutt, a senior from Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, owns a 3.94 GPA as a physician assistant studies major. She ranked 10th in the Mid-Atlantic Region (and 24th in the NCAA East) in the heptathlon and finished 50th in the long jump.
