Duquesne looks to build on Wednesday's win by going on the road to take on Fordham on Saturday at 2:00 P.M. ET.

THE SERIES - vs. FORDHAM
  • The Dukes are 22-11 all-time against Fordham.
  • Duquesne is 9-5 against Fordham on the road.
  • Duquesne is currently on a 2-game losing streak against Fordham and is 4-6 in the last 10 matchups.
  • The Dukes are 20-8 against the Rams when they have met in conference play.
  • The first matchup was in 1996.
SCOUTING FORDHAM
  • Fordham is 11-6 overall and 3-1 in conference play. The Rams have won four out of their last five.
  • Their most recent game was a loss on the road  to GW on Wednesday, losing 57-63.
  • They are 7-2 at home this season.
  • Asiah Dingle is the team's leading scorer at 19.2 points per game. She also leads the Rams in assists (3.3) and steals (3.2). 
  • Kaitlyn Downey leads the team with 8.5 rebounds per game.
  • Fordham was picked to finish fourth in the conference this year.
  • Candice Green is in her 1st season leading the Rams as interim head coach.
LAST MATCHUP - FEB. 5, 2022
  • Fordham beat the Dukes, 59-52, the last time they met. 
  • Duquesne was held to under 10 points in two of the four quarters.
  • Fatou Pouye led Duquesne with 21 points on 10-of-18 shooting.
  • Duquesne shot 47.7 percent from the field but turned the ball over 20 times.
LAST TIME OUT
  • Duquesne dominated St. Bonaventure on Wednesday, winning 69-38.
  • Naelle Bernard led the team once again with 23 points on 8-of-16 shooting and made six threes.
  • Megan McConnell and Amaya Hamilton both had double-doubles.
  • Duquesne held SBU to just 21 percent shooting.
STAT CHECK
  • Megan McConnell is the ONLY player in Division-I or Division-II  - men's or women's - to have two triple-doubles this year. Her 8.3 defensive rebounds per game rank fifth in the nation and her 9.9 rebounds per game rank first in the A-10. Her 42 steals are the 27th-most in the country and her 94 assists lead the A-10 and rank 13th nationally. 
  • Tess Myers ranks sixth in the nation in three pointers with 52 and 10th in three-pointers per game with 3.06. Her 90 total threes last season led the conference and ranked 14th in the nation. 
  • The Dukes lead the A-10 in rebounds per game (42.2, 37th in nation) and in defensive rebounds per game (31.5, 10th in nation). Their field goal percentage defense (34.0%) ranks first in the conference and 11th nationally.
A-10 ELITE
  • Since taking over as head coach in 2013-14, Dan Burt has led the Dukes to 181 wins. Only Dayton (195) and Fordham (192) have amassed more wins during that span among A-10 teams.
  • The Dukes are also one of four Atlantic 10 programs to post a winning season in at least seven of the past nine seasons (Dayton, Fordham, & VCU). 
  • Coming into the season, Duquesne was also tied for the third-most A-10 wins (86) since Burt took over as head coach.
  • Since 2013-14, the Dukes have led the Atlantic 10 in scoring offense (2x), scoring margin, field goal percentage (2x), free throw percentage and assists per game (3x).
  • Duquesne has ranked at least fifth in the conference in points per game, field goal percentage and assists per game in all but one season since 2014-15. 
LOCK DOWN D
  • Duquesne ranks 11th in the country and first in the conference in field goal percentage defense, with opposing teams shooting just 34.0 percent against the Dukes.
  • The Dukes' scoring defense ranks fourth in the conference as opposing teams have scored just 60.5 points per game.
  • The Dukes held opponents to under 50 points five times last season and won eight games by double digits. They have won seven games by double-digits already this year.
  • Duquesne held an opponent to under 50 points just once during the previous 2020-21 season (George Mason) and did not win any games in 2020-21 by double digits.
  • This year, the Dukes have held three teams to under 50 points.
  • In the Jan. 11 win over St. Bonaventure, Duquesne held the Bonnies to 11 points at half, 21% shooting overall, and just 38 points total.
RAINING TREYS
  • The Dukes rank 49th in the nation and fifth in the A-10 with 7.9 three-pointers per game.
  • Tess Myers ranks 10th in the country with 3.06 threes per game.
  • Her 52 three-pointers also rank sixth in the country.
  • She already ranks 7th in Duquesne history with 167 threes and will move into 6th-place with 16 more.
  • Myers has made at least two threes in all but two games this season.
  • Duquesne has made 10 or more threes six different times this year, passing last year's total. 
  • This year's team has hit 12 or more thress four times already, three more times than last year's team.
  • The Dukes' 13 threes against Brown on Nov. 11,  while shooting 44.8%, which was the fourth-highest total in program history. 
  • Last year's team made 214 three-pointers, which is tied for the fifth-most in Duquesne history. This year's team has 135 right now.
BEASTS ON THE BOARDS
  • Megan McConnell leads the A-10 with 9.9 rebounds per game, which ranks 28th nationally. Her 8.3 defensive rebounds per game rank fifth in the nation. Her 168 total rebounds are the 13th-most nationally.
  • She led the team with 6.4 rebounds per game last season, which ranked 10th in the conference. 
  • McConnell hauled in at least five rebounds in 22 games last season. She has five or more in 16 out of 17 games so far this year, and 10 games with double digit rebounds.
  • Precious Johnson ranks second on the team and 12th in the conference with 7.1 rebounds per game. 
  • Duquesne's 30.9 defensive rebounds per game rank 10th in the country. The Dukes' 42.2 rebounds per game rank lead the conference.
  • The Dukes secured a season-high 56 rebounds against St. Bonaventure on Jan. 11, 2022, the most since  Nov. 26, 2019 against Central Connecticut State (57).
PLAYING LIKE A MCCONNELL
  • In addition to rebounds, Megan McConnell ranks fourth in the A-10 in steals per game (2.47, 49th in nation) and leads the A-10 in assists per game (5.5, 19th in nation). 
  • Last year she led the team in both assists (4.1) and steals (2.6) per game.
  • She has 42 steals already, recorded five in the season opener and had six in the Marshall game. 
  • McConnell recorded a career-high eight steals versus George Washington on Feb. 9, 2022.
  • It marked the most steals in a single game by a Dukes player under Head Coach Dan Burt.
CLUTCH IN CRUNCH TIME
  • Duquesne was 0-12 last season in games decided by eight points or less, but it is 5-3 this year - a sign that things are different this season in the clutch moments.
  • The Dukes were also winless in the 12 games in which they trailed heading into the fourth quarter, a streak which was also snapped just two games into this season as they trailed 54-53 against Brown on Nov. 11 after three quarters.
  • Tess Myers has been clutch late in the game this season. She hit the game-winning three-pointer against Vermont on Dec. 10, scored the last seven points in the six-point win over Kent State on Dec. 7 and scored three of the last four points in the five-point win against Marshall on Nov. 27.
  • They are 10-0 when leading after three quarters this year.
