ADDISON, ILL. - Duquesne, as a team, qualified for the Intercollegiate Team Championship Nationals and
Olivia Farwell and
Kiearra Saldi qualified for Intercollegiate Singles Championship Nationals over the weekend at Stardust Bowl in Addison, Ill.
It is the second time the team has qualified (2019 is the other) and also marks first time in program history that two individual Dukes have qualified in the same season.
Farwell, who also qualified for ISC Nationals in 2019, finished with a six-game 1302 total to finish third, while Saldi finished sixth at 1251. The two qualified out of a field of 225 bowlers.
Farwell and Saldi will be among 24 women vying for an individual national title at the same facility on April 19-20.
DU's
Jessica Cadez (1186) and
Morgan Brookover (1169) also finished among the Top 30 in Addison at 21st and 27th respectively.
In the Intercollegiate Team Championship qualifier, the Dukes finished fourth of 16 teams, with a 64-game baker total pinfall of 12761, just six pins behind third place Louisiana Tech. The Dukes will be joined by four qualifiers from the other three Sectionals which were held in held in Dayton, Ohio, Smyrna, Tenn. and Dallas, Texas at the ITC Nationals on April 20-23.
Next up for the Dukes is the Northeast Conference Championship, scheduled for March 24-26 at Hamilton, Lanes in Hamilton, N.J.
