The Dukes are back home and look to snap a three-game losing streak to Kent State on Wednesday night. Tip-off is set for 6:00 P.M. ET.
THE SERIES - vs. KENT STATE
- The Dukes and Golden Flashes have met 10 times, with the teams splitting the matchups.
- This is the fifth-straight season the two teams will meet. Kent State has won the last three matchups.
- Prior to the last three, Duquesne won four-straight games from 2011-2018.

- Kent State is 5-2 and coming off a 64-49 win over an A-10 opponent, St. Bonaventure on Sunday.
- After starting 1-2, the Golden Flashes have won four in a row, including a win on the road against Oklahoma State on Nov. 20.
- Lindsey Thall (12.4 ppg) and Katie Shumate (12.3 ppg) lead the team in scoring.Â
- Hannah Young averages 6.0 rebounds per game to lead the squad.
- Kent State returns six of its top seven scorers from last season.
- Kent State was picked to finish fourth in the MAC this season.
- The Golden Flashes are led by head coach Todd Starkey, who is 106-79 in his seven season at Kent State.
LAST TIME OUT
- Duquesne took down Delaware on Sunday night, 66-55.Â
- The Dukes shot 44.2 percent from the field and 41. 7 percent from three to win by double digits in a physicial and chippy game.Â
- Megan McConnell recorded her second triple-double of the season with 12 points, 15 rebounds and 10 assists.
- Precious Johnson led Duquesne in scoring once again with 17 points on 8-of-19 shooting.
- Tess Myers was 4-for-6 from three and had 15 points.
- Duquesne held Delaware to 33.9 percent shooting from the field.

- Megan McConnell is the ONLY player in the NCAA, men's or women's, in any of the three divisons, to have two triple-doubles this year. Her 9.2 defensive rebounds per game is top-3 in the nation and her 10.5 rebounds per game ranks 18th nationally. Her 27 steals are the 14th-most in the country and her 5.8 assists per game leads the A-10.Â
- Tess Myers ranks third the A-10 and 24th in the country with 3.00 three-pointers per game this season. Her 24 three-pointers made are the 25th-most in the country. Her 90 total threes last season led the conference and ranked 14th in the nation.Â
- The Dukes lead the A-10 in rebounds per game (42.9, 41st in nation) and defensive rebounds per game (31.5, 14th in nation). Their scoring defense ranks third in the conference as opponents are scoring 61.0 points per game while their field goal percentage defense (34.9%) ranks first in the conference and 35th nationally.
MS. TRIPLE-DOUBLE
- Megan McConnell is the ONLY player in the NCAA, men's or women's, in any of the three divisions, to have two triple-doubles this season.
- Her first came on Nov. 11 against Brown. She scored 10 points, grabbed 13 rebounds and dished out 10 assists.
- Her second came against Delaware on Dec. 4 when she had 12 points, 15 rebounds and 10 assists.Â
- She is just the second player in A-10 women's basketball history to have multiple triple-doubles in the same season.Â
- She is the first Duquesne women's basketball player to have multiple triple-doubles in their career - let alone 23 days apart.
- Only one other player has had three triple-doubles in a season in A-10 history - Megan's aunt, Susie McConnell (Penn State, 3, 1988).
BEASTS ON THE BOARDS
- Megan McConnell leads the A-10 with 10.5 rebounds per game, which ranks 18th nationally. Her 9.2 defensive rebounds per game rank 3rd in the nation.
- She led the team with 6.4 rebounds per game last season, which ranked 10th in the conference.Â
- McConnell hauled in at least five rebounds in 22 games last season. She has five or more in all eight games so far this year.
- Precious Johnson ranks second on the team and 13th in the conference with 6.9 rebounds per game.Â
- Duquesne's 31.5 defensive rebounds per game ranks 14th in the country. The Dukes' 42.9 rebounds per game rank 41st in the country.Â
PLAYING LIKE A MCCONNELL
- In addition to rebounds, Megan McConnell leads the A-10 in steals per game (3.4, 16th in nation) and assists per game (5.8, 22nd in nation).Â
- Last year she led the team in both assists (4.1) and steals (2.6) per game.
- She has 27 steals already, recorded five in the season opener and had six in the Marshall game.Â
- McConnell recorded a career-high eight steals versus George Washington on Feb. 9, 2022.
- It marked the most steals in a single game by a Dukes player under Head Coach Dan Burt.
HOME COURT ADVANTAGE
- Since taking over as head coach in the 2013-14 season, Dan Burt has led the Dukes to a 91-39 record in home games.Â
- Not including the shortened 2020-21 season (only five home games), the Dukes haven't had a losing record at home since 2006-07 and never have under Burt.
- The Dukes went 8-7 at home last season in their first full season at the upgraded UPMC Cooper Fieldhouse.
- Duquesne is 4-1 at home this season.
ALL-TIME WINS RECORD
- Dan Burt is one win away from tying and two wins away from breaking the all-time wins record at Duquesne.Â

50TH ANNIVERSARYÂ
- 2022-23 is Duquesne Women's Basketball's 50th season. 1973-74 was the first season.
- In the past 50 years the program has put together an all-time record of 665-657 (.503), Â a Division I record of 561-586 (.489) and an Atlantic 10 Record of 254-329 (.436).
- The program has had 10 head coaches since its inception.
