Mischler Named to CFPA FCS National Performer of the Year Trophy Watch List

CHARLESTON, S.C. - Duquesne quarterback Joe Mischler (Erie, Pa. / Cathedral Prep / Ohio) was named the the 2021 preseason watch list for the College Football Performance Awards (CFPA) FCS National Performer of the Year Trophy, the organization announced on Monday morning. 

Mischler was one of 44 returning FCS players to earn a spot on the list. He returns for his second season under center for the Dukes after garnering First Team All-NEC honors following his debut season on The Bluff. Mischler paced the NEC and ranked 18th in the country at the conclusion of Duquesne's season averaging 239.0 passing yards per game. He completed 85-of-130 pass attempts for 1,195 yards and a conference-high nine touchdowns during the Dukes' five-game spring slate, closing the year ranked fifth in the FCS in passing efficiency at 159.3. The Ohio transfer registered a pair of 300-yard passing performances, including a school NEC-record 385 yards for three touchdowns in Duquesne's win over LIU.

The 2021 CFPA FCS National Performer of the Year will be announced January 12, 2022.

Mischler and the Dukes open the 2021 campaign at TCU on Saturday, Sept. 4 at 8 p.m. ET.
