Football Places Program-High 56 on NEC Academic Honor Roll

3/17/2026 12:30:00 PM

Bridgewater, N.J. – The Duquesne University football program placed 56 student-athletes on the 2025 NEC Fall Academic Honor Roll, including 14 who earned Commissioner's Honor Roll recognition with a GPA of 3.75 or higher, the league announced Tuesday.

The 56 honorees mark a program record since Duquesne joined the NEC in 2008. The milestone caps a strong fall 2025 academic semester for the Dukes, who also led the conference with six College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District® Team selections.

To qualify for the NEC Academic Honor Roll, student-athletes must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.20 or higher, while Commissioner's Honor Roll recognition requires a minimum GPA of 3.75. The NEC recognized a record 1,287 student-athletes on its Fall Academic Honor Roll, including an all-time high of 514 selections to the Commissioner's Honor Roll.

Duquesne finished 7-5 overall and 5-2 in NEC play last season, securing its 27th winning record in 33 years at the FCS level, including 10 in the past 11 seasons dating to 2015. The Dukes placed second in the conference standings and have finished in the top two five times over the past six seasons. The program also led the NEC with 16 student-athletes earning postseason and all-conference honors in 2025.
