Duquesne Rowing Adds Arnold to Coaching Staff

PITTSBURGH - Duquesne rowing head coach Jenn Langzettel has announced the addition of Jen Arnold to the Dukes' staff as an assistant coach.

Arnold brings nearly a decade of coaching experience to The Bluff, most recently serving as a volunteer assistant coach with the rowing team at Jacksonville University last season.

"We are looking forward to what Jen can add to our program," Langzettel said. "She has experience at every level and most recently with a solid NCAA Division I MAAC program at Jacksonville. Her outgoing personality combined with her initiative will help Duquesne Rowing continue to work toward and achieve its goals.

Prior to Jacksonville, Arnold worked as head coach of the crew club at Michigan State from 2018-20 in addition to serving as a volunteer coach with the varsity rowing squad in 2020. In East Lansing, she was responsible for overseeing a staff of four assistant coaches, expanding the Spartans' recruiting classes from 32 student-athletes to 42 during her tenure. Arnold designed a comprehensive training program for the student-athletes in addition to coordinating travel, equipment and racing logistics. She also developed strong alumni relations and fundraising initiatives at Michigan State. Arnold also served as head coach of the rowing team at Virginia Tech in 2017-18.

"I am excited to be joining the Duquesne University rowing program and the entire Duquesne family," Arnold said. "The school spirit and pride at Duquesne provides an incredible environment for student-athletes to find excellence both in the boat and in the classroom. I look forward to working with and learning from Jenn, Stephen, Joe and all of the athletes."

Before coaching at Virginia Tech, Arnold worked as a coach with the Kenai Crewsers Rowing Club, the Lake Brantley High School Rowing Association and the Jacksonville Rowing Club. Additionally, she worked as a personal trainer from 2016-18, desinging and implementing tailored fitness programs for clients.

Arnold graduated from the University of Central Florida in 2013 with a bachelor of science degree in restaurant and food service management. She also rowed collegiately as a scholarship athlete at the University of Charleston.

Arnold has earned her NCAA Division I Coaches Certification and is US Rowing Level II Certified, USOC SafeSport Certified in addition to earning National Personal Training Certification from the American Council of Exercise.
