Pittsburgh, Pa. – A total of 11 student-athletes from the Duquesne University rowing team were honored for their work in the classroom by garnering the 2026 Scholar-Athlete Award from the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA). Earning the honor for the Dukes are senior

The CRCA Scholar-Athlete Award recognizes collegiate rowers who demonstrate a strong commitment to success in the classroom and on the water. Nominees must meet all institutional and conference eligibility rules, hold a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher through the end of the fall semester or winter quarter and have rowed in at least 75 percent of the team's spring races in an NCAA or IRA (lightweight) eligible boat or have competed in an NCAA boat at their respective conference championship or national championship.
Each of the 11 honorees for Duquesne are earning their first CRCA Scholar-Athlete Award. Dicke earned a Bachelor of Science degree in health sciences this spring with a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.53. DeCosmo is also a health sciences degree major and has maintained a GPA of 3.61.
Alcaro is a biochemistry major with a 3.92 GPA, while Armstrong is studying international relations and owns a 3.93 GPA. Bartos owns a double major of biomedical engineering and nursing and through two years of study has maintained a perfect 4.00 GPA. Langford is a physical therapy major who has accumulated a 3.74 GPA, Osterhaudt owns a 3.89 GPA while studying occupational therapy and Selby has compiled a 3.97 GPA as a mathematics and secondary education mathematics major.
Among the freshmen, Althof posted a 3.62 GPA in her first year as an entrepreneurship & innovation major, Kerrigan studies biochemistry and posted a 3.77 GPA and Tibbitts is a chemistry major with a 3.70 GPA.

Matt Carlsen, the Dukes finished fifth at the 2026 Atlantic 10 Championship, their highest showing in a decade. Duquesne accumulated 29 points and during the 2026 spring semester the team posted a team GPA of 3.3738, with 38 student-athletes posting a 3.00 GPA or better.
