Duquesne Finishes Fifth at Atlantic 10 Championship

Dukes post best finish since 2016, pair earn A-10 All-Conference honors

Pittsburgh, Pa. – The Duquesne University rowing team concluded its 2025-26 season Saturday, closing in fifth at the 2026 Atlantic 10 Championship in Pennsauken, N.J., at Cooper River Park. The Dukes accumulated 29 points and posted their highest showing at the conference championship in 10 years.
 
TEAM CHAMPION
Rhode Island claimed its third consecutive Atlantic 10 Championship Saturday and 12th overall in program history, leading the pack with 48 points. The Rams were bolstered by claiming gold in both the Varsity 8 and Second Varsity 8. George Washington (43) finished second, with Fordham (40), La Salle (31) and Duquesne rounding out the top five. Saint Joseph's (24) finished sixth, George Mason (16) closed in seventh and Dayton (9) rounded out the field. For the Dukes, the 29 points marked their highest total since 2016, when they racked up 35 and finished fourth.
 
VARSITY 4
Each of the Varsity 4 boats to compete for the Dukes earned medals Saturday at the Atlantic 10 Championship, with the Varsity 4 finishing third and collecting bronze and the Second Varsity 4 earning silver. The Varsity 4, with Caitlin Langford serving as coxswain, logged a time of 7:48.241 in the prelims to finish second in its heat, trailing just URI (7:45.827). In the finals, George Washington (7:37.268) earned gold, just 1.524 seconds ahead of La Salle (7:38.792) and 3.106 seconds clear of the Dukes, which crossed the finish line at 7:40.374. URI, which owned the best time during heats, finished fourth at 7:44.619. The Second Varsity 4 featured Kat Muha as the coxswain, and she helped guide Duquesne to a time of 8:00.895 in the finals, just 3.227 seconds behind George Washington, which won gold at 7:57.668.
 
VARSITY 8
Serena DeCosmo served as the coxswain for the Varsity 8, which finished third in its heat with a time of 6:58.155. In the final, Duquesne closed in fifth, shaving over 10 seconds off its time from the prelims at 6:47.307. The Dukes trailed La Salle by just 3.611 seconds for fourth. The Duquesne Second Varsity 8 featured Paige Engel as the coxswain, with the Dukes also finishing fifth thanks to a time of 7:14.979.
 
ALL-CONFERENCE
A pair of Dukes were bestowed 2026 Atlantic 10 All-Conference honors at the conclusion of the Atlantic 10 Championship. In a vote of head coaches, senior Cherise Dicke was named to the 2026 Atlantic 10 All-Conference First Team, while senior Nora Grace Foglia garnered a spot on the 2026 Atlantic 10 All-Conference Second Team. It marked the first career all-conference accolades for each.
