THE SERIES
  • Winners of eight-straight over its closest Atlantic 10 foe in terms of distance, Duquesne holds a 42-20 advantage in the all-time series over St. Bonaventure.
  • At home sites, the Dukes hold a 25-5 lead in the series, including a 71-63 win at La Roche University in December. 
  • In that matchup, Duquesne erased a five-point deficit in the fourth quarter to earn the victory. The Dukes used an 18-2 run in the final frame en route to the triumph. Graduate student Kiersten Elliott supplied eight of her career and game-high 15 points during the fourth quarter. 
  • Duquesne Head Coach Dan Burt is 12-2 all-time against  the Bonnies and 9-1 against current SBU head coach Jesse Fleming.
STAT CHECK
  • The Dukes snapped a seven-game losing streak with a 55-49 win over George Mason last week. They followed that up with a 71-63 victory over Rhode Island on Thursday night in Duquesne's first game at the UPMC Chuck Cooper Fieldhouse. Duquesne was competing on its campus for the first time in 712 days. 
  • The Patriots held a 47-46 lead with 5:12 remaining in the fourth quarter, but the Dukes clamped down defensively, holding George Mason to one made field goal the rest of the way, as Duquesne finished the contest on a 9-2 sprint.    
  • Playing in just her third game this season, Libby Bazelak led the Dukes with 18 points. The Atlantic 10 Preseason First Team selection led Duquesne in scoring (13.2 ppg), rebounding (6.5 rpg), assists (3.9 apg), steals (1.3 spg), 3-point field goal percentage (.444) and free throw percentage (.758) a season ago. She has made 48 percent of her field goal attempts since returning this season. 
  • In the Dukes' triumph over the visiting Rams on Thursday, Precious Johnson netted a career-high 20 points. Johnson also cleaned the glass with nine rebounds and swatted two shots in 25 minutes off the bench. She currently paces the A-10 in field goal percentage (.593) on the season. 
  • Diamond Bragg (12 points) and Ny Langley (10 points) also reached double figures for the Dukes 
  • Megan McConnell continues to shine during her freshman season, ranking 37th in the country in assist/turnover ratio (2.43). She leads all freshman in the nation in the category.
  • Over the last five games, the Dukes have been led in scoring by McConnell (10.2 ppg) and Tess Myers (10.0 ppg).
SCOUTING ST. BONAVENTURE
  • The Bonnies (5-12, 4-10) enter Monday night's matchup having dropped two straight at George Washington and vs. Rhode Island. This followed a three-game winning streak with a pair of victories over Davidson and a road win at George Mason. 
  • St. Bonaventure currently sits in 12th place in the Atlantic 10 standings. 
  • Bonnies leading scorer Asianae Johnson ranks 12th in the conference averaging 13.0 points per game. She is also 10th in the league in free throw percentage (.742). I'yanna Lops sits fifth in the A-10 in shooting percentage, connecting on 51.4 percent of field goal attempts (54-of-105) on the season. 
UP NEXT
  • The Dukes are slated to travel east to Philadelphia for a pair of matchups next weekend at La Salle (Feb. 26) and Saint Joseph's (Feb. 28).
