Seventeenth-ranked Duquesne went 9-4 in placing third at the James Brown Invitational held at AMF Country Club Lanes in Baltimore, Md. over the weekend.

Kiearra Saldi (202.0) placed second and third for the Dukes, who had five bowlers among the top 20 in the individual standings.

Allison Hresko (180.4) finished 16th and 17th respectively.
Duquesne averaged 186.5 in going 4-1 in Friday's baker matches. The Dukes followed an opening loss to #13 North Carolina A&T (905-1089) with wins over #15 Delaware State (979-948), #8 Youngstown State (935-796), Morgan State (889-704) and Coppin State (954-882).
DU extended its streak to eight-straight wins by opening Saturday's traditional round with victories over #8 Youngstown State (950-852), Morgan State (947-790), Coppin State (1080-880) and #13 North Carolina A&T (932-835) before falling to #15 Delaware State (874-940) in the final match of the afternoon.
Four Dukes topped the 200-pin mark in the dominating win over Coppin State led by Small and Saldi with a 247 and 245 respectively. DU's 1080 total was the highest traditional total by any team on Saturday.
In Sunday's championship round, the Dukes dropped a 4-0 decision to North Carolina A&T, before falling 4-3 is a seven-game battle with Delaware State. The DSU match came down to a 182-179 decision in the final game.
DU rallied to defeat Youngstown State, 4-2, to lock up third place.
The Dukes (17-8) will be back in action Feb. 19-21 at NEC Meet #1 at Clearview Lanes in Mount Joy, Pa.
