QUICK HITS 
  • Following a three-game road swing, the Dukes return to Rooney Field to host Akron on Wednesday afternoon on The Bluff. 
  • The Dukes are 1-0 at home this season, defeating Canisius 11-10 on Feb. 12.
  • Duquesne is coming off a 17-8 defeat at Delaware last Wednesday. Rilee Bradshaw, Carlee Braverman and Michaela Connolly each had a pair of goals for the Dukes. 
  • Duquesne paces the country in caused turnovers per game (15.2) while ranking fifth in the nation in ground balls per game (22.2).

SCOUTING THE ZIPS
  • Akron is in its first year of competition as an NCAA Division I program under first-year head coach Christy Mitchell. 
  • The Zips have dropped all six games this season and are coming off a 14-10 loss at Atlantic 10 member St. Bonaventure on Saturday, March 7. 
  • Kaitlyn Morris leads Akron with 10 points on the year (seven goals, three assists) while Anna Dennison has a team-high eight goals on the season. 
  • Abby McMullen paces the Zips with 18 draw controls while Kaylee Riggins has a team-best 17 ground balls. Gianna Buzzelli has tallied 11 caused turnovers for Akron. 
THE SERIES
This is the first meeting between Duquesne and Akron, as the Zips are a first-year program.

  • The Dukes head to South Bend, Ind. to face off with No. 2 Notre Dame (6-0) next Wednesday, March 18 at 4 p.m. The Fighting Irish travel to Vanderbilt Wednesday before battling top-ranked North Carolina in Chapel Hill, N.C. on March 15.
