Christian Kuntz Signed by Steelers

PITTSBURGH - The Pittsburgh Steelers announced the signing of former Duquesne linebacker Christian Kuntz (Pittsburgh, Pa. / Chartiers Valley) on Thursday afternoon.

Kuntz, a Pittsburgh native, joins the six-time Super Bowl champions after spending time with the Denver Broncos during the 2018 offseason before signing a futures deal with the Jacksonville Jaguars at the end of the 2018 campaign.

The 6-1, 227-pounder is the only Duquesne player to earn All-American honors three times and joined nine-year NFL veteran Leigh Bodden as the only two-time AP All-Americans in program history. A two-time Northeast Conference Defensive Player of the Year, he recorded a school-record 30.5 sacks while his 71.5 career tackles for loss rank fourth on the NCAA FCS all-time list.

The Steelers host the Kansas City Chiefs in their second game of the preseason this Saturday at 7:30 p.m. ET at Heinz Field.
