NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - The Atlantic 10 Conference released its 2019 All-Academic and All-Rookie Teams on Wednesday afternoon, with four Dukes garnering All-Academic honors including
Elizabeth Morris (Doylestown, Pa. / Central Bucks East),
Maiah Yankello (Monaca, Pa. / Central Valley),
Noah Ball (Lancaster, Ohio / Lancaster) and
Isaac Elliott (Ambridge, Pa. / Ambridge).
Morris collects her second consecutive A-10 Track & Field All-Academic team nod and third overall from the conference as she was also an honoree for cross country this past fall. Morris owns a 3.98 grade point average as an education major (grades 4-8). In addition, she earned CoSIDA Google Cloud Academic All-Region honors last season. Morris scored on both days of the 2019 A-10 Championship, placing sixth in both the 5,000-meter run and 10,000-meter run for Duquesne. She recorded top-five times in program history in both of those events this season, as well.
A two-time medalist at the 2019 A-10 Championship, Yankello is a double major in information systems and marketing with a 3.86 GPA. She posted a bronze finish in the 400-meter hurdles for the Dukes while also helping DU's 4x400-meter relay team collect a bronze medal. Yankello's time in the 400-meter hurdles at the championship meet was the third-fastest in program history.
Ball, a pharmacy major with a 3.93 GPA, earns his first All-Academic honor. The junior recently placed 12th in the 1,500-meter run at the A-10 Championship with a personal best time of 3:59.12Â for the Dukes. He also recorded a fourth-place showing in the event at Saint Francis U's Red Flash Open and a fifth-place mark at the Geneva College Invite.
Elliott caps another stellar campaign on the track to go with a 3.56 GPA as a communication studies major. He won gold in both the 100-meter dash and 200-meter dash at the A-10 Championship, topping his own school record time in the 200 meter. He added fifth-place marks in the 4x100-meter relay and 4x400-meter relay. Elliott was the A-10's Most Outstanding Rookie Performer a year ago and owns school records in both the 100 and 200.
