PITTSBURGH - Former Duquesne football standouts Nehari Crawford and Matt Fitzpatrick have each accepted rookie mini-camp invitations from NFL teams following this week's NFL Draft. Crawford is slated to join the New York Giants while Fitzpatrick will head west to the Seattle Seahawks.

Crawford capped his Duquesne career as the program's all-time leader in receiving yards (2,719) and receptions (190) in addition to 31 receiving touchdowns. He also served as a returner for the Dukes, finishing his career with 4,274 all-purpose yards, a pair of return touchdowns and a rushing score.

A two-time First Team All-NEC pick,  Crawford eclipsed 1,000 receiving yards in each of the last two seasons, becoming just the second Duquesne player (Chris King) in the FCS era to do so.

He recorded over 100 yards receiving in 10 career games, including an 11-catch, 223-yard performance with a pair of touchdowns in a victory over Dayton earlier this season. Crawford also hauled in 10 receptions for 124 yards, including the NEC championship-clinching 56-yard touchdown reception in the final minute of the win over Central Connecticut. He was selected to participate in the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, Calif.

Fitzpatrick is a three-time all-conference performer, starting 35 straight games for the Dukes. He helped pave the way for 20 100-yard rushing performances during his career, helping Duquesne pace the league in rushing in 2016 and '17.

Also an excellent student, Fitzpatrick was the Northeast Conference's finalist for the STATS FCS Doris Robinson Award which is presented to an FCS student-athlete who excels not only in the classroom, but in the community and beyond.

Crawford and Fitzpatrick helped the Dukes to three NEC titles and a pair of FCS Playoff appearances as well as the Dukes' first FCS playoff win with a 31-10 victory at Towson this past season.
