Preview: @DuqLax vs. La Salle

GAME NOTES
  • Duquesne (8-7, 3-5 A-10) is slated to host La Salle (5-10, 3-5 A-10) in the regular season finale and senior day with an Atlantic 10 Championship berth on the line on Saturday, April 20 at noon ET at Arthur J. Rooney Field.
  • DU seniors Taylor Hopkins, Sarah Kollhoff, Erin Conway, Courtney Battles, Millie Micho, Megan Buettner and Haley Matthai will be honored prior to the matchup with the Explorers.
  • The Dukes, who have doubled their win total from last season under first-year head coach Corinne Desrosiers, are seeking their ninth win for the first time since 2016.
A-10 CHAMPIONSHIP PICTURE
  • Duquesne can clinch a spot in the upcoming A-10 Championship with a win over La Salle on Saturday OR losses by both George Washington -AND- VCU.
  • Six teams qualify for the A-10 Championship which is hosted by George Mason on April 25-28.
  • The Dukes can secure the No. 5 seed with a victory over the Explorers -AND- a VCU loss to George Mason.
  • Duquesne can clinch the No. 6 seed with a win -AND- a VCU win over George Mason
  • The Dukes can also secure the No. 6 seed with a loss to La Salle -AND- a UMass win over GW -AND- a George Mason win over VCU.
  • The top two seeds receive byes.
  • Duquesne last qualified for the A-10 Championship in 2016.
SCOUTING THE DUKES
  • Following a pair of A-10 wins last weekend, DU is coming off a non-conference loss to visiting Penn State on Tuesday.
  • Maddie Hart had a hat trick for the Dukes in the loss. She has registered 11 goals and three assists in her last three games.
  • In addition, Hart is seventh in the nation in caused turnovers per game (2.67), eighth in ground balls per game (3.33) and 12th in draw controls per game (6.93). She leads the conference with 104 draw controls, ranking second in the league with 40 caused turnovers and third with 50 ground balls.
  • Sydney Reed is 11th in the country in caused turnovers per game (2.40), good for third in the conference.
  • Rilee Bradshaw ranks second in the A-10 and 20th in the country with 48 goals on the season. Her 25 goals in conference play also rank second in the league.
  • Entering the final game of the regular season, the Dukes pace the country in shots per game (40.4) and shots on goal per game (29.67) while ranking second in caused turnovers per game (15.07) and ground balls per game (23.8),  as well as sixth in scoring offense (16.2) and seventh in draw controls per game (16.27).  
SCOUTING THE EXPLORERS
  • After a 3-2 start in A-10 play, La Salle has dropped three straight in league play.
  • Goalie Molly Loughlin is fourth in the country in saves (167) and sixth in saves per game (11.13). She also ranks 12th in save percentage (0.499) and ground balls per game (3.27).
  • Leading scorer Bridget Ruskey (32 goals, 11 assists) ranks fifth in the A-10 with 95 shots on the year.
