LEWISBURG, Pa. - Bethany Evankovich recorded four first-place marks to lead the Duquesne women's track and field team at the 2019 Bison Outdoor Classic hosted by Bucknell on Saturday and Sunday at Christy Mathewson-Memorial Stadium.
Evankovich crossed the finish line first in the 200-meter dash (24.92) and 400-meter run (54.83) for the Dukes, in addition to helping the 4x100-meter relay team (46.98) earn a first-place mark with
Amberly Valeriano,
Chyna Beck and
Gabby Holmberg, the second-fastest time in Duquesne history in the event. She was also part of the Dukes' first-place 4x400-meter relay (3:50.48) with
Maiah Yankello, Holmberg and
Kel-Lisa Sebwe.
Yankello notched a first-place mark in the 400-meter hurdles for Duquesne with a time of 1:01.81.
The Dukes' 4x800-meter relay team of
Taylor Pletz,
Megan Aller,
Erin Durnin and
Rachel Valotta placed second in the event at 9:28.81.
Morgan Perkins recorded a third-place performance in the 3,000-meter run with a season-best time of 10:17.71 while Beck placed fourth in the 100-meter hurdles (15.01) as well as Sebwe posted a season-best time in the 400-meter run with a mark of 56.80.
