| Box Score 2 | Box Score 3 PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - The Duquesne women's tennis team extended its winning streak to seven with a pair of victories over the weekend with a 4-1 triumph over George Mason before blanking La Salle 7-0.

The Dukes close out the regular season with a 14-6 overall mark and a 6-1 ledger against Atlantic 10 competition.

Duquesne was scheduled to face off with Saint Joseph's on Friday afternoon, but just as the doubles point was concluded the rain started coming down and unfortunately the match had to be cancelled. The Dukes started off very strong in doubles play with 6-1 victories at number No. 1 and No. 2. Julianne Herman and Meredith Lee continued their dominant play and secured the first win at No. 1 while just minutes later Margot Pessy and Priyanka Mitta secured the doubles point for Duquesne at No. 2 with another 6-1 victory.

In Saturday's matchup with George Mason, the Dukes featured the same doubles pairs, as Herman/Lee saw another convincing win at #1 doubles winning 6-2. Next off the court was the duo of Maddy Adams and Laurel Shymansky playing No. 3 doubles, as they were able to bounce back from Friday's defeat and win 6-3.

Two-time A-10 Player of the Week Julianne Herman continued her strong conference play winning another match at No. 1 singles 6-1, 6-2. Shymansky was able to fight off a second-set surge from her opponent in order to win 6-1, 4-6, 6-2. With the Dukes needing just one more match, Aishwarya Kona was able to provide that victory at No. 5 singles. She played a strong first set and then was able to battle back from 5-2 down in the second to win 6-1, 7-5. Maddy Adams was winning 7-5, 2-3 and Margot Pessy was winning 7-5, 2-1 when the match was decided. 

"I was very proud of how the team reacted today," said women's assistant coach Hunter Callahan after the match. "We were not sure when the match would be played but we were able to stay focused and get ready when the time came to play. The conditions were very hot also so I was happy with how we went out there took care of business."

On Sunday at La Salle, Herman/Lee captured another win at No. 1 doubles by a score of 6-1. With this win the tandem went undefeated in conference play. Next off was Mitta/Abdalla at No. 3 doubles winning 6-1. Adams/Shymansky were winning 5-2 when the doubles point was decided. 

The singles play saw much of the same dominant play as did the doubles. First off the court was Herman who earned a 6-0, 6-0 triumph at No. 1 singles. With this win, Herman went 5-0 for the weekend and went undefeated in conference play in singles action.

Next to be done was Maddy Adams playing No. 3 singles winning 6-0, 6-0 as well. Priyanka Mitta bounced back from Saturday and won by a convincing score 6-2, 6-1. After a tough first set, Shymansky was able to handle her opponent winning 6-4, 6-1 at No. 2 singles. Miranda Bishard was able to get a victory playing No. 6 singles and won 6-0, 6-0. Kona saw another victory at No. 5 singles this weekend winning her match 6-1, 6-3. 

"We had a strong showing this weekend with three conference opponents," said Director of Tennis Vanessa Steiner. "We have a little over a week to get ready for A-10s and the entire team is excited and ready to battle."
