PITTSBURGH - For the second consecutive weekend, Duquesne took part in a meet hosted by Carnegie Mellon as the Dukes competed in the CMU Quad Meet on Saturday at Gesling Stadium.
DU posted 11 first-place marks at the meet, including a stadium record time in the 400-meter dash by
Bethany Evankovich, who crossed the finish line in 54.53. Evankovich added a first-place showing in the 200-meter dash (24.66) as well as the 4x100-meter relay team with
Amberly Valeriano,
Chyna Beck and
Gabby Holmberg, which posted the second-fastest time in program history in the event at 47.20. The Dukes' 4x400-meter relay team of Holmberg,
Maiah Yankello, Beck and Evankovich also won that event at 3:54.62.Â
Also posting first-place finishes for the Dukes was Beck in the 100-meter hurdles (14.87), Yankello in the 400-meter hurdles (1:03.23),
Laura Ehrenberger in the 1,500-meter run (4:46.94),
Elizabeth Morris in the 3,000-meter run (10:09.79), Valeriano in the long jump (5.51 meters),
Caroline Billone in the triple jump (11.05 meters) and
Maris Seto in the high jump (1.57 meters).
