Preview: @DuqLax at Richmond / Davidson

GAME NOTES
  • The Dukes look to snap a two-game skid with a pair of road contests at Richmond (March 29) and Davidson (March 31) this weekend.
  • Duquesne was downed by VCU (21-16) and Saint Joseph's (21-6) in two A-10 matchups last week.
  • The Dukes pace the country in shots per game (44.0) while ranking second in ground balls per game (25.88) and caused turnovers per game (15.88) as well as fourth in scoring offense (17.13 goals per game).
  • Maddie Hart leads the A-10 with 55 draw controls, 23 caused turnovers and is second in the conference with 26 ground balls as well as third with 28 ground balls.
  • Hart has scored at least four goals in each of the last three games, including seven in a win over Central Michigan.
  • Michaela Connolly sits fifth in the league with 15 assists and sixth with 33 points on the year (18 goals, 15 assists).
  • Rilee Bradshaw is second on the team with 22 goals on the season, including a team-high two game-winning goals.
SCOUTING RICHMOND
  • The Spiders are 8-2 overall on the season with a 1-1 mark in A-10 play.
  • Richmond fell 9-8 in overtime at George Mason before registering a 19-3 win over St. Bonaventure on Sunday.
  • The Spiders' only other loss this season came against No. 12 Virginia.
  • Richmond boasts one of the top scoring defenses in the nation, ranking 10th in Division I limiting opponents  to 8.4 goals per game.
  • Julie Ball ranks seventh in the country with 2.4 caused turnovers per game. She also leads the A-10 with 30 ground balls.
  • Mia Castagnero is third in the A-10 with 23 goals on the season while Marissa Brown is second with 17 assists
  • Richmond won its fourth A-10 Tournament Championship last season, knocking off nine-time defending champion UMass in overtime in the title game.
  • The Spiders then fell to No. 9 Northwestern 24-18 in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
  • Richmond is 15-6 all-time against Duquesne.
SCOUTING DAVIDSON
  • The Wildcats enter the weekend with a 6-4 overall record and an 0-2 mark in A-10 action.
  • Davidson started 6-0 before dropping four straight, including a 20-9 decision vs. UMass and a 12-11 game to George Washington.
  • The Wildcats rank second in the league in scoring defense, holding opponents to 9.9 goals per game.
  • Braeden Dial leads the A-10 averaging 6.5 shots per game. She is also seventh in the league with 29 points (19 goals, 10 assists) on the year.
  • Sarah Kopp is second in the conference in draw controls with 39 draw controls, trailing only Maddie Hart (55). Sophia Sgroi is fourth in the A-10 with 35 draw controls.
  • The Dukes are 7-5 all-time against Davidson.
NEXT UP
  • The Dukes host UMass (April 5) and George Mason (April 7) next weekend at Arthur J. Rooney Field.
