Preview: @DuqLax at VCU / vs. Saint Joseph's

GAME NOTES
  • The Dukes open Atlantic 10 play this weekend with a road matchup at VCU on Friday at 4 p.m. followed by a home tilt vs. Saint Joseph's on Sunday at 1 p.m.
  • Duquesne is coming off a 24-18 win over Central Michigan on March 15.
  • With that victory, the Dukes improved to 5-1 and eclipsed their win total from last season. DU last started 5-1 in 2014.
  • Duquesne owns the top scoring offense in the country at 19.17 goals per game and leads the nation in shots per game (47.67) while also ranking second in points per game (27.0), ground balls per game (27.5) and caused turnovers per game (16.83).
  • Maddie Hart paces the A-10 with 45 draw controls while ranking third with 17 caused turnovers on the year. Sydney Reed is also tied for third in the league with 17 caused turnovers.
  • Michaela Connolly is tied for the A-10 lead with 30 points on the season with 17 goals and 13 assists.
SCOUTING VCU
  • The Rams are 3-4 overall with wins over Old Dominion, Longwood and LIU Brooklyn.
  • VCU has dropped three straight, including a 15-4 decision to No. 20 Notre Dame.
  • Sky Hyatt is second in the A-10 with 19 goals on the season.
  • Ria Peralta leads the conference with 10.86 saves per game.
  • The Rams have won two straight over the Dukes.
SCOUTING SAINT JOSEPH'S
  • The Hawks enter the weekend with a 4-4 ledger, including a 1-3 mark on the road.
  • Saint Joseph's faces off with St. Bonaventure on Thursday night.
  • The Hawks defeated Delaware 9-7 at home in their last contest.
  • Francesca Donato leads the A-10 with 17 assists on the season.
  • Duquesne leads the all-time series vs. Saint Joseph's 16-4, but the Hawks have won the last three meetings.
