Shannon Taub (Philadelphia, Pa. / Council Rock) was named to the Atlantic 10 Women's Indoor Track & Field All-Academic Team, conference officials announced on Wednesday afternoon.
The A-10 All-Academic teams are comprised of student-athletes who were selected based on their performance in their sport as well as in the classroom. To be nominated, athletes must have a GPA of 3.0 or better (on a 4.0 scale) for their entire academic career. The teams were selected through voting conducted by the league's Sports Information Directors.Â
Taub earned Most Outstanding Field Performer at this year's A-10 Indoor Championship, recording a second-place finish in the heptathlon, in which she shattered the school and meet record with a score of 3,812. She won the high jump (1.71m), long jump (5.59m) and shot put (12.84m) in the heptathlon to go with a silver-medal showing in the high jump (1.65m) as well as the triple jump (12.10m). In addition, she posted a fifth-place mark in the shot put (13.22m) for Duquesne.
