Preview: @DuqLax vs. Central Michigan

GAME NOTES
  • Duquesne (4-1) plays host to Central Michigan (2-4) on Friday, March 15 at 3 p.m. at Arthur J. Rooney Field.
  • The Dukes suffered their first loss of the season on Tuesday by a score of 23-13 against Louisville.
  • Duquesne's 13 goals were the second-most scored against an ACC opponent in program history. The record is 19 goals scored in a 20-19 overtime loss to Virginia Tech on April 21, 2000.
  • The Dukes lead the country in shots per game (46.0), shots on goal per game (32.8) and caused turnovers per game (18.0).
  • Duquesne is second in the nation in ground balls per game (28.0), third in scoring offense (18.2) and points per game (26.8) as well as fourth in assists per game (8.6).
  • Michaela Connolly leads the Dukes with 25 points on the year with a balanced 13 goals and team-high 12 assists.
  • Coming off three straight games with at least three goals, Rilee Bradshaw now paces Duquesne with 14 goals on the season.
  • Connolly, Maddie Hart and Sydney Reed have each tallied 17 ground balls for the team lead, while Hart has a team-high 32 draw controls and Reed has led Duquesne with 17 caused turnovers.
  • This will be the second meeting between the Dukes and Chippewas
THE LAST MEETING
  • Jill Vacanti registered her third hat trick of the season but Duquesne lacrosse team was defeated by Central Michigan by a score of 15-8 on March 16, 2018.
  • The Dukes jumped out to a 7-1 lead midway through the first half, highlighted by three goals by Vacanti and a pair of scores from Megan Buettner.
  • The Chippewas would respond with 12 straight goals to gain a 13-7 advantage with 15:47 to play in the second half.
  • Carlee Braverman stopped the Central Michigan surge with an unassisted goal. at the 14:16 mark of the second period.
SCOUTING THE CHIPPEWAS
  • Central Michigan enters with a 2-4 record on the season with wins over Butler and Cincinnati.
  • The Chippewas are coming off an 11-10 loss against American on Monday.
  • Central Michigan is fifth in the country in fewest fouls per game (9.83) and 12th in free position percentage (0.500).
  • Chippewa goalie Dominique Hamman is 22nd in the nation in saves per game (10.17).
  • Jessica Schuchardt leads Central Michigan with 18 points on the season (12 goals, 6 assists) while Jocelyne Lemay paces the team with 15 goals on the year
  • The Chippewas begin Southern Conference play at Mercer on March 31.

  • The Dukes open Atlantic 10 play on the road at VCU next Friday, March 22 at 4 p.m. ET.
  • Duquesne then returns home to host Saint Joseph's on Sunday, March 24 at 1 p.m. ET.
