@DuqXCTF Places Sixth at A-10 Indoor Championship

Shannon Taub Named Most Outstanding Field Performer

FAIRFAX, Va. - The Duquesne women's track and field team posted a sixth-place finish at the 2019 A-10 Indoor Track and Field Championships on Saturday and Sunday at the Mason Field House. The Dukes took home five medals, recording a score of 73, just 5.2 points behind fourth-place Richmond and 3.2 points from fifth-place Rhode Island.

Shannon Taub paced Duquesne at the meet as the senior was named the Most Outstanding Field Performer. She registered a second-place mark in the heptathlon, shattering the school and meet record with a score of 3,812. She won the high jump (1.71m), long jump (5.59m) and shot put (12.84m) in the heptathlon to go with a silver-medal showing in the high jump (1.65m) as well as the triple jump (12.10m). She added a fifth-place mark in the shot put (13.22m) for the Dukes.

Bethany Evankovich took home a bronze medal in the 400-meter dash (55.02) while placing fifth in the 200-meter dash (24.80) and eighth in the 60-meter dash (7.86).

Evankovich was also part of Duquesne's 4x400-meter relay team with Maiah Yankello, Kel-Lisa Sebwe and Gabby Holmberg which took bronze in the event at 3:47.47. Evankovich, Laura Ehrenberger, Yankello and Rachel Valotta finished sixth in the distance medley relay with a time of 11:57.20.

The Dukes' 4x800-meter relay team of Ehrenberger, Erin Durnin, Valotta, Megan Aller finished fifth in the event (9:12.62).

Yankello placed fourth in the 800-meter run (2:12.13) followed by Valotta in sixth (2:14.67) for Duquesne while Amberly Valeriano finished sixth in the 60-meter hurdles (8.77) with Chyna Beck (8.88) placing eighth.

On the field side, Gabby Holmberg placed fourth in the triple jump at 11.87 meters and Maris Seto recorded a fifth-place mark of 1.60 meters in the high jump.
