FAIRFAX, Va. - The Duquesne women's track and field team is set to compete at the 2018-19 Atlantic 10 Indoor Track and Field Championship on Saturday and Sunday at the Mason Field House. The action is slated to begin on Saturday at 9 a.m. on both Saturday and Sunday.
The Dukes placed fifth at last year's A-10 championship, with all four medal-winners returning for the 2019 indoor championship.
Bethany Evankovich won a pair of gold medals in the 200-meter dash and 500-meter run while
Shannon Taub earned silver in the pentathlon
Chyna Beck picked up a bronze medal in the 60-meter hurdles and
Maiah Yankello collected a bronze medal in the 800-meter run for Duquesne.
Heading into the championship, Taub owns top-three marks in the A-10 this indoor season in the pentathlon (first), high jump (third) and triple jump (third). She was named the A-10 Field Performer of the Week last week after posting first-place marks in the long jump and triple jump at last week's Kent State Tune-Up.
Evankovich also owns the third-best mark in the 400-meter dash this indoor season.
Freshman
Amberly Valeriano was named the Rookie of the Week for winning the 60-meter hurdles at Kent State to go with a second-place showing in the long jump.
