KENT, Ohio - The Duquesne women's track and field team competed in the Doug Raymond Invitational on Saturday, posting a school-record mark and a number of season-best performances at the event hosted by Kent State at the Kent State Field House.
Bethany Evankovich posted a first-place mark in the 400-meter dash with a school-record time of 54.58. She bested the previous school record mark of 55.21 set by Melissa Miller in 2010.
Elizabeth Morris registered a season-best time in the 5,000-meter run at 17:44.14, good for second place in the event.
Ava Pietrzyk followed in fifth with a mark of 18:05.05.
Maiah Yankello recorded a second-place showing in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:14.64.
On the field side,
Shannon Taub placed second in the high jump with a season-best mark of 1.68 meters.
The Dukes' 4x400-meter relay team added a third-place showing in the event with a mark of 3:49.22.

The Dukes return to action at Kent State again next weekend in the final meet before the Atlantic 10 Championship on Feb. 22-23 in Fairfax, Va. The Kent State Tune-up will take place on Saturday, Feb. 16.
