NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - Following her performance at the Youngstown State Icebreaker over the weekend, Duquesne's
Bethany Evankovich (Edinboro, Pa. / General McLane) garnered Atlantic 10 Co-Track Performer of the Week honors, conference officials announced on Monday. This marks her second career A-10 Performer of the Week award.
Evankovich paced the Dukes with a school and facility record-breaking showing in the 400-meter dash with a first-place time of 54.27. She topped the facility record of 54.86 set by Amber Davis in 2013 and bested her own school record of 54.48 set in 2018.
In addition, Evankovich's time also represents the top mark in the NCAA in the event so far this indoor season.
She was also part of Duquesne's 4x400-meter relay team which placed first with a mark of 3:47.21.
Rhode Island's Lotte Black was also named A-10 Women's Co-Track Performer of the Week while Saint Louis' Katie Wissing earned Field Performer of the Week accolades and Davidson's Hannah Kanjian collected Rookie of the Week honors.
Evankovich and the Dukes return to action in 2020 with the Youngstown State Invitational on Friday, Jan. 17 hosted by the Penguins at the Watson and Tressel Training Site (WATTS).
