PITTSBURGH – The Duquesne women's tennis team will travel to the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's Atlantic Regional championships this weekend, as the Dukes will compete against competition from 23 schools at Virginia Tech's Burrows-Burleson Tennis Center and Cassell Courts.
Team's making the trek to Blacksburg include Delaware, Georgetown, George Mason, George Washington, James Madison, Liberty, Longwood, Marshall, Maryland, Mount St. Mary's, Navy, Old Dominion, Penn State, Radford, Richmond, Saint Joseph's, Temple, Towson, VCU, Virginia, West Virginia, William & Mary.
A school-record five Dukes will compete at the ITA Atlantic Regionals, as
Laurel Shymansky will represent the Dukes in the singles main draw.
Miranda Bishard will be also be competing in the singles competition, taking on the singles qualifying draw portion of the event.

Daniela Latoni will both compete in the doubles main draw.
Birshard opens competition for the Dukes on Friday, facing West Virginia's Nicole Roc. Shymansky will battle Virginia Tech's Nina Sorkin in the singles main draw.
In doubles, Shymansky and Latoni will face Navy's Amanda Cyr and Kaylah Hodge, while Lee and Mitta will take on the duo of Annie Clark and Shene Disbergen of
Virginia Tech.
Friday's action will feature two rounds of singles qualifying and the round of 64 doubles. Saturday begins with the Round of 32 and 16 doubles, along with the Round of 64 main draw singles. Sunday will feature the quarterfinal round for doubles and the round of 32 and 15 singles. Monday will round out the doubles draw with semifinals and finals along with the quarterfinals for singles. Tuesday will wrap up the regionals with the semifinals and finals for singles.
