Carry Named A-10 Rookie of Week for Second Time

Averaged 20.0 points, 7.0 assists and 5.0 rebounds in two road wins

PITTSBURGH - Point guard Sincere Carry (Solon, Ohio) has been named Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week for the second time for his performance in Duquesne's two road wins last week. The 6-1 point guard averaged 20.0 points, 5.0 rebounds and 7.0 assists in helping DU to victories at Richmond and George Washington.

Carry, who ranks second in the A-10 in both assists (5.6) and steals (2.9) per game, had 21 points and 6 assists in the Dukes' 74-68 win at Richmond. It was DU's first victory at UR since 1993. He followed that with 19 points, 8 assists and 6 rebounds in Duquesne's 91-85 overtime win at George Washington. The win in Washington D.C. marked the first time since 1989 & 1990 that a Duquesne team has posted back-to-back victories at GW.

Carry currently ranks first among the nation's freshmen in steals per game (fifth nationally overall) and fourth among freshmen in assists per game (tied for 28th nationally).

This is the second A-10 Rookie honor for Carry, who was also named on Dec. 24. Carry shares this week's award with Saint Joseph's Jared Bynum.

Duquesne (13-5, 4-1), winner of four in a row, is currently tied for third in the Atlantic 10. The Dukes open a three-game homestand vs. A-10 leader Saint Louis (14-4, 5-0) - winner of six straight - on Wednesday, Jan. 23 at 8:00 p.m. at Palumbo Center.
