PITTSBURGH – Duquesne director of tennis Vanessa Steiner has announced the addition of four players to the women's tennis program. The Dukes will add Miranda Bishard, Meredith Lee, Priyanka Mitta and Margot Pessy to the 2018-19 roster.
 
The four student-athletes join the squad that 15-5 last season and advanced to the quarterfinals of the Atlantic 10 Championship.
 
Miranda Bishard

• 4-star recruit from Orlando, Fla.
• Universal Tennis Rating of 9.06
• Ranked #100 in the country her senior year
• Has a win over a Blue Chip recruit on tennis recruiting

 
Meredith Lee

• 3-star recruit from Pottstown, Pa.
• Comes to Duquesne after playing freshman at Wingate where she played #3 singles and #1 doubles
• Universal Tennis Rating of 9.08
• USTA National Leadership Award
• 4th place at PA States 2014 and 2016
• 2018 SAC Champions (Wingate Bulldogs)
• Member of Down the Line and Beyond Foundation

 
Priyanka Mitta

• 4-star recruit from Moblie, Ala.
• Universal Tennis Rating of 9.49
• Ranked as high as #39 nationally

 
Margot Pessy

• From Normandy, France
• 4 time State Championship Finalist and 1 time Winner (U16)
• 6 time qualified for French National Championship (2 times in Roland Garros) with best results in double being quarterfinal and 3rd round in singles
• Qualified into three Grade 1 Tennis Europe Tournaments main draw
• Qualified for National High School Team Championship and finished 5th in France (also State High School Champions)
• 2018 College State Championship winner (singles), qualified for the College National Championship where I got into quarterfinals in doubles
