RESULTS
CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The Duquesne men's track and field team posted five top-10 finishes at the Charlotte 49er Classic to open the 2018 season on Friday and Saturday at the Irwin Belk Track & Field Center.
Freshman Isaac Elliott (Ambridge, Pa./Ambridge) registered a pair of school-record performances in his collegiate debut for the Dukes. He posted two top-10 marks for the Dukes, placing sixth in the 200-meter dash with a school-record time of 21.41) and seventh in the 100-meter dash with another school-record mark of 10.62.
Elliott's times bested the previous school records held by Shakeil Carter of 10.65 in the 100 meter and 21.49 in the 200 meter.
Senior Rico Galassi (Dickson City, Pa./Holy Cross) placed third in the 5,000-meter run for DU, finishing the race in 14:32.06.
In addition, freshman Harvey Kane (Pittsburgh, Pa./Upper St. Clair) placed sixth in the high jump with a mark of 1.95 meters while junior Jake Heinauer (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Hills) finished eighth in the 3,000-meter run with a time of 8:38.33.
