Hines Named STATS FCS First Team All-American

CHICAGO - Another national accolade for running back A.J. Hines (Wilson, N.C./Fike) was announced on Tuesday, as the junior was named a STATS FCS First Team All-American.

Hines becomes the second Duquesne player in program history to earn a STATS FCS First Team All-America nod, joining Christian Kuntz who garnered back-to-back First Team honors in 2015-16. This marks the eighth straight season in which the Dukes have been represented on the STATS FCS All-America teams.

This also marks Hines' fifth postseason award after being named an Associated Press FCS Second Team All-American, Northeast Conference Offensive Player of the Year, First Team All-NEC and First Team All-ECAC. In addition, he was a finalist for the Walter Payton Award for FCS Offensive Player of the Year.

Hines, the first Duquesne running back to garner FCS All-America honors, finished with 1,520 rushing yards with 17 total touchdowns on the year. He posted seven 100-yard rushing performances and registered over 200 yards from scrimmage in five games.
