PITTSBURGH - The Duquesne football team will travel to Towson next Saturday, Nov. 24 for an NCAA FCS Playoff First Round matchup with the Tigers as announced today on ESPNU. Kickoff is slated for 2 p.m. ET at Johnny Unitas® Stadium.
The Dukes (8-3) are making their second appearance in the FCS Playoffs after qualifying in 2015.
Towson (7-4) posted a 5-3 mark in Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) play this season. The Tigers, who earned an at-large bid, are making their first appearance in the FCS Playoffs since 2013.
Duquesne punched its ticket to the FCS Playoffs on Saturday, winning its fifth Northeast Conference (NEC) title in eight seasons with a 38-31 victory over Central Connecticut State.
Saturday will mark the first meeting between the Dukes and Towson. The game will air live on ESPN3 with the winner traveling to face fifth-seeded South Dakota State on Saturday, Dec. 1.
The Dukes also faced an opponent from the CAA in the FCS Playoffs in 2015 in William & Mary. The Tribe edged Duquesne in a 52-49 shootout.
