April 25, 2017 PITTSBURGH - Duquesne football is once again spearheading the annual "Be the Match" registry drive across campus as part of the National Marrow Donor Program.
Duquesne student-athletes representing a number of sports will be assisting with the registration of donors tomorrow, April 26, from 9:00 am until 5:00 pm in the football locker room located in the Keller Fieldhouse just off Rooney Field, Reverend Sean Hogan Dining Center, Student Union and Freshman Living/Learning Centers.
Participants will have the opportunity to win Duquesne football gear, gift cards and more.
Last year's drive resulted in a record registration of 545 students and staff members. Over the past four years alone, six Duquesne students or faculty members have donated marrow that has directly saved a life.
The football program, with assistance from a number of athletics teams as well as campus groups, has registered 2,576 people since the inception of the event in 2010.
