QUICK RECAP: The Duquesne women's tennis team set a program record when they recorded their 6th Atlantic 10 win of the season after sweeping a weekend series in Philadelphia.
The Dukes opened with a 4-0 win over La Salle on Friday followed by a hard-fought 4-3 win over Fordham on Saturday.
Against the Explorers, the Dukes won the top four spots. Kylie Isaacs was a 6-0, 6-2 winner at #1 singles. Julianne Herman, Maddy Adams and Megan Wasson were all 6-0, 6-0 winners at #2, #3 and #4 singles. The #5 and #6 singles along with the doubles matches were not played.
The match against Fordham was also played in Philadelphia. The Dukes opened things off by winning the double point. Isaacs and Herman took the #1 spot 7-6 and Alexa Miller and Megan Wasson won at #3 6-3. Isaacs cruised at #1 singles 6-0, 6-0. Fordham took #6 singles before Herman won at #2 singles in three sets 4-6, 6-2, 6-1. The Rams tied the match at 3-3 after winning at #4 and #5 singles. But it was Alexa Miller winning at #3 singles 6-4, 4-6, 6-2 to clinch the match for the Dukes.
UP NEXT: The Dukes (13-4, 6-1 A-10) finish out the conference season at Richmond (12-7, 4-2 A-10) on Saturday and at George Washington (5-10, 1-3 A-10) on Sunday. The final match before A-10s is at CalU on April 17th.
