NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - Freshman Julianne Herman has set a program record by winning her seventh Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week Award. She went undefeated in Duquesne's only match last week - an 8-1 win over #18 D-II California University of Pennsylvania. Herman was a 6-2, 6-1 over Lena Dimmer (ranked #30 nationally/#2 regionally) at #2 singles and with partner Kylie Isaacs, an 8-4 winner over Kifer Shaw and Dimmer (ranked #12 in the country/#1 regionally) at #1 doubles.

Herman is 22-5 overall this season in singles and 23-4 in doubles. She finishes regular season by tying Isaacs for the Duquesne freshman program record with 45 total wins.

The previous record for ROW awards was Zena Williams in 2008.

The Dukes (15-5) will participate in the 2016 Atlantic 10 Championship, which begins on Thursday. Seed and match times will be announced by the league soon.
