March 7, 2016 Spring Practice Schedule
With the promise of warmer weather in the forecast in Pittsburgh, the Duquesne University football team will return to Rooney Field this evening to begin its 2016 spring football practice schedule in preparation to defend its 2015 Northeast Conference title this fall.
The Dukes who compiled an 8-4 record (5-1 NEC) and made the University's first appearance in the Football Championship Subdivision playoffs in 2015, will practice 14 times prior to its annual Spring Game slated for Saturday, April 9 at at 2:00 pm on Rooney Field.
Twelfth-year head coach Jerry Schmitt's squad returns 14 starters (8 offense, 6 defense) in addition to its placekicker and punter.
