Duquesne's lacrosse team fell to 1-1 on the season following a 19-5 loss at #4 Penn State Saturday afternoon. Freshman Courtney Battles scored twice to lead the Dukes.

Battles second goal of the game came at the 4:20 mark of the first half to cut the Penn State advantage to 4-3. However, the Nittany Lions would score six goals in the final four minutes of the half, including a tally with one second on the clock to give PSU a comfortable 10-4 lead at the break.

Kaelin Shaw had game highs of three ground balls and four caused turnovers while keeper Jenna Bishop made 14 saves, including 12 in the first half.

The Dukes return to action next Sunday, Feb. 28 as they travel to Ohio State for a 2:00 pm contest.
