Nov. 7, 2016 PITTSBURGH - A.J. Hines and Blair Roberts earned NEC weekly honors for their performance in Duquesne's 28-20 win at Wagner on Saturday.
Hines, who rushed for 136 yards and a pair of TDs in the win, earned Rookie of the Week honors for an NEC record eighth time. Hines became the first Duquesne freshman to top 1,000 yards in a season at the FCS level with his 60 yard touchdown run in the first quarter. Hines, who ranks fifth nationally at 121.7 rushing yards per game, added an 18 yard TD run with 4:34 left to cap the scoring.
This is the second Offensive Player of the Week honor for Roberts, who caught four passes for 110 yards at Wagner. The Old Dominion graduate transfer's 18-yard TD reception gave Duquesne its first lead at 21-20 with 1:54 left in the third quarter. Roberts, who was also named NEC Offensive POW last week, added a 46-yard catch to set up P.J. Fulmore's second quarter touchdown run.
