JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Three Duquesne student-athletes represented the University at the 2015 NCAA East Preliminary Round. The event was held at Hodges Stadium on the campus of the University of North Florida in Jacksonville, Fla.
Anna Simone participated the in the 400m hurdles on Thursday afternoon. Simone, who qualified with a time of 57.98 at the ECAC Championship, won her heat and finished 10th overall with a season-best time of 57.85 to advance to the quarterfinal round the following night. On Friday, she finished fifth in her heat and 15th overall with a time of 58.48. The top three times from each heat plus the next three best times qualify for the NCAA Championships.
Danica Snyder and Valerie Palermo participated in the steeplechase. Just like the 400m hurdles, the top three times from each heat plus the next three best times qualify for the NCAA Championships. Snyder finished ninth in her heat and 33rd overall with a time of 10:21.02 and Palermo 13th in her heat and 41st overall, crossing in 10:30.47.
