QUICK RECAP: The Duquesne women's track and field team participated in the 2015 ECAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships this weekend. The Dukes scored 15.75 points and a pair of school records were broken. Fellow Atlantic 10 Conference member George Mason was first with 53 points.
In the preliminary round of the 400m hurdles, Anna Simone finished fourth in a field of 32 runners with a time of 58.63. She finished the highest out of any runner in her heat. In the finals, she finished third with a time of 57.98. Louise Prevoteau also participated in the 400m hurdles, she placed 21st crossing in 1:02.58.
Simone and Prevoteau also ran the first and third legs of the sixth place 4x400 team. Along with, Kim Watterson and Abby O'Connell, the team finished in 3:43.52 after advancing from the preliminaries by finishing in 3:42.86. These times were better than the team's previous PR of 3:46.64 set earlier this season at the Colonial relays and set a new school record that stood since 2012 by Nicole Cherok, Shannon Abraham, Taylor Glenn and Tacquaya Tobias of 3:44.40.
O'Connell was 13th out of 21 runners in the 400m. Her time of 55.56 was fourth in her heat.
In the steeplechase, Duquesne had a pair of top 10 finishers in Danica Snyder and Valerie Palermo. Snyder was 5th with a time 10:13.11 - improving her school record time by almost four seconds. Palermo was eighth finishing in 10:17.59.
In the field events, Julia Franzosa was ninth in the javelin with a throw of 137-7. Sherie Key was sixth in the high jump (5-5.75) and eighth in the triple jump (40-4.75). Prevoteau was 17th in the long jump with a distance of 17-7.
