Isaacs Named A-10 First-Team All-Conference

NEWPORT NEWS - The Atlantic 10 Conference has announced their 2015 All-Conference selections.

Three Duquesne student-athletes represent the University.

Kylie Isaacs has been named First-Team All-Conference. The freshman led Duquesne with 45 total wins, which tied the single-season school record (Miriana Gundin, 1996). The 45 wins was the most-ever for any freshman in program history. Isaacs also tied the school record for freshman singles wins with 26 (Zena Wiliams, 2008). Isaacs played primarily at #1 singles where she had a record of 15-4. In doubles, Isaacs had 19 wins which was the second most for any freshman in program history. Along with partner Sarah Shashura, the duo had a 13-5 record at #1 doubles this season.

Shashura was named to the All-Academic team. She tied her career-high 21 overall wins this season. Her 19 wins at doubles was a new career-high. Academically, the nursing major has a 3.94 GPA and is on the Dean's List, Director of Athletics' Honor Roll and Atlantic 10 Commissioner's Honor Roll.

Joining Shashura on the All-Academic team is Megan Wasson. The sophomore had 20 overall wins this season. She won the Duquesne Chemistry Departmental Academic Award and is on the Dean's List, Director of Athletics' Honor Roll and Atlantic 10 Commissioner's Honor Roll. Wasson is a chemistry major with a 4.0 GPA.
