Clare Hurley had four goals, two assists and six draw controls and Jill Vacanti added four goals an assist and two ground balls as Duquesne defeated visiting Davidson, 12-7 Friday in a pivotal Atlantic 10 contest.
The Dukes jumped to a 3-0 lead just five minutes into the contest on a pair of Vacanti goals and one by Michelle Morris. The Wildcats would score three of the final five goals of the half though to cut the deficit to two.
DU expanded its lead to 8-4 as Vacanti and Kaelin Shaw scored back to back and led 9-5 with 13:45 remaining. Davidson scored two in a row to cut it to 9-7 with 4:54 left, but the Red and Blue persevered, scoring the final three goals of the contest.
Jenna Bishop posted six saves to collect her seventh win of the year.
The Dukes return to action on Sunday, April 26 as they host George Mason at noon on Senior Day in the regular season finale.
