Kaelin Shaw scored four goals and Clare Hurley and Tess Drotar added two apiece, but it was not enough as Duquesne fell on the road at George Washington, 14-13 in overtime.
The Dukes held a 9-6 halftime lead as Drotar scored with four seconds remaining in the first half. The Red and Blue expanded the advantage to 11-6 at the 26:02 mark on goals by Shaw and Hurley.
However, the Colonials would rattle off the next four goals to narrow its deficit to one goal at the 13:43 mark. Drotar gave DU a two-goal lead with a goal at the 9:43 mark, but GW scored the next three to take a 13-12 lead with 4:58 left.
Lib Lowry tied the contest with 31 seconds to go to force overtime, but GW secured the victory with a goal with nine seconds left in OT.
Hurley added two assists, four draw controls and a caused turnover. Meredith Micho led the contest with a game-high seven draw controls. Jenna Bishop made three saves in the first 41:30 while Taylor Hurwitz made six saves in the final 24:30.
The Dukes return to action on Sunday as they head to Richmond for a 1:00 pm contest.
