QUICK RECAP: The Duquesne women's track team opened the 2015 outdoor season on Friday and Saturday in Winston-Salem, N.C. for the Wake Forest Open. The Dukes had four top 3 finishes.

Anna Simone improved on her 100m hurdles school record by .03 seconds in her third place finish of 14.19. She won the 400m hurdles, finishing in 59.57 in a field of 40 runners. She was also third in the 100m hurdles finals with a time of 14.38.

The 4x400 team of Simone Louise Prevoteau Kim Watterson Abby O'Connell were second out of 27 teams finishing in 3:47.94.

On Saturday, the throwers and jumpers participated in the CalU Early Bird Meet.

Sherie Key finished in first place in the triple jump (39-1.25) and second in the long jump (17-8.75).

Sophia Fustos placed second in the shot put her first outdoor event of her career with a throw of 38-1.5.

Julia Franzosa was third in the javelin with a throw of 127-9.

UP NEXT: The Dukes travel to Williamsburg, Va. for the two-day Colonial Relays on April 3-4.
